TINTAGEL Carnival is set to return - and has crowned its royalty for the year ahead.
The event will take place on Saturday, August 9 at 7pm with a parade from Bossiney to Tintagel.
These include some traditional favourites such as the return of the scarecrow and shop window competitions. The scarecrow competition will be judged by Sunday, August 10 and entries have already begun to appear in the village.
There will also be cream teas hosted at the Tintagel Women’s Institute (WI) hall and this year, there will also be laughter and terrific fun in technicolour in the form of a colour burst fun run to be held at Tintagel Memorial Playing Fields on August 3.
The organisers said that they hoped that the villagers and visitors will come out in their numbers to make the carnival a great success.
A spokesperson for the organisers of Tintagel Carnival said: “We are delighted to confirm that Tintagel Carnival is back! We have recently crowned our royalty who will be leading the procession from 7pm on Saturday, August 9 from Bossiney to Tintagel.
“We also have a number of activities to get the whole village and visitors involved in, starting with some favourites such as the scarecrow and shop window competitions, cream teas at the Tintagel WI hall and this year, we are holding a colour burst fun run.
“We just now need your support to make this carnival a great one! Please check out our Facebook page under Tintagel Carnival for all the information, or contact us on our email, [email protected]. We hope to see you on August 9!”
