I am inviting everyone in North Cornwall to get involved in UK Parliament Week (UKPW), an annual event spreading the word about what Parliament is, what it does and how you can get involved.

It’s a great way to find out new things about the UK Parliament or be reminded of things you might’ve forgotten.

UKPW is taking place from November 6 to 12.

Youth groups, community organisations and schools in constituencies across the United Kingdom have already signed up to join in this year.

Last year over one million people took part in every nation and region of the UK, and many countries all over the world.

Everyone who signs up for UK Parliament Week will be posted a free kit packed with resources, including a booklet (with information and activity ideas tailored for youth groups, primary and secondary schools, or adults), a ballot box, bunting, stickers and a unique ‘The Ayes Have It’ board game.

As well as exploring UK Parliament and ways to get involved, this year’s UKPW throws a spotlight on the various roles and people who help to keep our Parliament running.

As the MP for North Cornwall, I’m encouraging people in my constituency to sign up for UK Parliament Week 2023.

I’m looking forward to seeing many groups and organisations join in and welcome this opportunity for communities to come together to find out about UK Parliament.

If you would like any further information about this please send me an email.

The unaffordability and lack of good housing for working people in our local community was one of the driving factors that brought me into politics.

I’m very pleased that Cornwall Rural Housing Association has been at the forefront of delivering sustainable solutions for North Cornwall, and their new development in Jacobstow — the first in the village in five years — will offer a huge boost to the area.

I would like to extend my thanks to all the partners who have come together to make this a reality.

The mix of homes in Jacobstow, North Cornwall, will all be for social rent and I’m looking forward to visiting the site next week.

As always if my team or I can be of assistance to you with a casework issue, do not hesitate to get in touch via [email protected]
