Holywell/Cubert Athletic have some talented younger players but travel restrictions led to them taking a scratch side to Gunnislake in the Premier Division and falling to a heavy 14-1 defeat.

Carlton Farnham and Jarryd Kelly hit a hat-trick apiece and there were braces from Jan Kerr and Jan Humphrey. The other Gunnislake goal scorers were Joe Wakenshaw, Chris Parsons, Liam Bryant and Kevin McCallion. Holywell battled bravely throughout with Malachy Cash getting their lone consolation.

Boscastle were given a helping hand as they fought back from 2-0 down at Saltash United thirds to earn a point.

Saltash led 2-0 before a needless stamp in the 20th minute led to them playing the remaining time with ten men. Boscastle pulled one back with Saltash regaining their two-goal lead, but eventually numbers told, and the visitors squared the game. Jake Ahanonu scored a brace on his debut for Saltash with Carl Bridgestone getting their other goal. Boscastle replied with goals from James Bosley, Dan Piper and Aaron Williams.

St Breward opened their season with a 3-2 win over St Merryn. Nathan Elliott, Jack Holt and Martin Jago scored for St Breward with Jack Bray getting one of the visitors replies.

AFC Bodmin and Tintagel shared six goals. Harry Darrock, Dan Hadley and Matt Hooper scored for Bodmin with Tintagel replying with an Adam Price brace and a Mark Grills goal.

Southgate Seniors beat St Stephen Reserves 6-1 in Division Two. Liam Cairns and Adam Scott hit a brace apiece with Craig Charnock and Josh Barron completing the home scoring and Charlie Stone getting the St Stephen consolation.

Bude Town Reserves beat local rivals Week St Mary 6-1. Matt Cook scored a brace with Brad Palmer, Steve Box, Steve Hackett and David Hales completing the home tally.

Lifton Reserves went down 2-1 at home to St Eval Spitfires. Liam Rich was on target for the hosts.

St Ann’s Chapel and North Petherwin reserves fought out a 2-2 draw. Kieran Wash and Dean Smith for St Ann’s with Jordan Karkeek and Jamie Holden replying.
