Cornwall Airport Newquay Duchy League round-up by Mike Newcombe — Saturday, September 21

GUNNISLAKE secured a fourth successive win to sit proudly at the top of the Premier Division. Liam Bryant scored a brace with Jan Kerr completing the scoring in a 3-0 victory over Tregrehan Mills.

Stoke Climsland hit nine without reply at home to Tintagel. Phil Burgoyne hit a hat-trick with Josh Pope and Aaron Doney each adding a brace. The rout was completed with goals from Wayne Skeldon and Jamie Campbell.

In an incident packed match St Stephen Reserves picked up their first points of the season in Division Two after coming from behind to defeat Lifton Reserves 6-5.

Lifton hit the hosts with a three-goal blitz inside three first-half minutes. St Stephen played themselves back into the game and got the faintest of touches to score before the interval.

The second-half exploded with some hotly-disputed decisions from the referee awarding the hosts three penalties. Oldham converted the first but Lifton still fought back to stretch their lead to 5-2.

The final penalty, awarded late on and converted by Greg Madden, gave St Stephen the win.

Liam Rich scored a hat-trick for Lifton with Dylan Boundy and Josh Mayne adding a goal apiece.

St Eval Spitfires won for the second time this season with Steve Masters scoring the only goal of the game at winless Boscastle Reserves.

There was just one game in Division Three where Bude Town Thirds moved up to fourth after a 2-0 win over Biscovey. There was a goal in each half with Ben Trenaman and Harry Dymond on target.
