ST MINVER strengthened their grip at the top of the Premier Division winning 2-0 at St Stephen.

From the start of the game St Minver put St Stephen under pressure and after just two minutes went close, and then a minute later they went ahead through a Stuart Parkyn header from a well taken free-kick.

St Stephen should have pulled level on 27 minutes when Craig Coad crossed and found Chris Kellow eight yards out with almost an open goal but he managed to put the shot over the bar.

St Minver went two up on 43 minutes when a shot hit the bar and was knocked in by Robbie Green. St Stephen managed to score on 77 minutes but the referee had blown for a foul and didn’t allow the advantage to count as Ryan Hayhurst had his goal ruled out.

St Stephen went close a few more times but a very good St Minver team came out deserved winners.

North Petherwin picked up a welcome point in their relegation battle from a two all draw at Lostwithiel. Joe Reeves put Petherwin ahead with Lostwithiel equalising through John Harris after some scruffy play following a free kick.

Petherwin restored their lead before half time. Awarded a penalty, the first shot struck a post but was ordered to be retaken because of encroachment. Jim Werren struck home the retaken spot kick.

Lostwithiel equalised after the break with a Ben Wilkinson goal.

New Junior Cup holders Callington Town stride on at the top of Division One after beating St Columb Major 5-2. Dan Ashman opened the scoring in the first minute. Liam Gatcum scored a brace with Kieran Prescott and Ricky Coton completing the home total. Craig Allen scored both St Columb goals.

St Dennis played Gunnislake at Stoke Climsland winning 6-4 to keep their title challenge alive. Mark Rowe scored a hat trick for St Dennis with Paul Rowe and a Nathan Hugh brace completing their tally. Gunnislake replied through a Kieran Jasper hat trick and a James Ord goal.

Gerrans & St Mawes United beat Altarnun 5-2. Charlie Jones hit a hat-trick with Harry Wilshaw and Hadyn Andrew completing the Gerrans total.

Antony Oldaker and Scott Taskis replied for Altarnun.

Holywell/Cubert Athletic had an important win beating Division Two promotion rivals North Hill 3-0.

The visitors played very well but their task was made impossible after their keeper received his marching orders in the first half for dissent. Simon Holmes scored a brace with Shaun Lancaster getting the hosts other goal.

Tintagel dropped back after being held two all at Lifton. There was little between the sides with a draw a fair reflection of the game.

Cameron Heard and Lee Robinson scored for Lifton with Martyn Cockcroft and Ollie Price replying for Tintagel.

An eventful game at St Breward saw visitors Queens Rangers win 2-0 with Phil Walmsley getting both goals, one in each half.

St Breward were denied by the woodwork twice and both teams ended with just ten men on the field.

Veryan were depleted and given a hard battle by Boscastle before wearing them down in the second half to win 2-0 with goals from Liam Cocks and Tyler Cheshire.

St Merryn kept their Division Three promotion hopes alive beating Delabole United 1-0 to inflict a serious wound into Delabole’s own hopes.

The only goal came from a Tristan Brown header from a corner in the 20th minute.

St Merryn missed a number of other chances and Delabole were reduced to ten men in the final ten minutes of a physical clash.

Tregrehan Mills retain their place at the summit after beating St Minver reserves 4-2. This was an important win against a difficult opponent.

Dean Dingle gave the hosts a 15th minute lead after latching on to a Lewis Husband through ball.

Dingle doubled the lead with an early finish to deceive the St Minver defence. The visitors got back into the game before the break when Adrian Ashton was allowed a free header.

Mills upped their game after the restart. Dingle through on goal squared for Dom Swire to hit their third and Sam Rowse came off the bench to score the fourth. Mills did hand out one more present as their keeper cleared poorly and Ashton scored his second.

Real Saltash kept up their Division Four title pursuit winning 6-2 at Kilkhampton. Luke Jameson scored a brace for the visitors with James Mason, Paul Shannon, Jack Pollard and Wayne Skeldon adding a goal apiece.

Kilkhampton replied through Alex Ellmer and Dave Inwood.

Padstow United won 3-1 at St Teath. The visitors scorers were Colin Warren, Rob Elliott and Matt Maloney. Craig Thompson replied for St Teath.

Week St Mary beat St Eval Spitfires by the odd goal in seven in their Division Five clash. Rob Hambly scored a brace with Steve Short and Frank Barriball adding a goal apiece for the hosts. Dean Darbourne, Joe Barrie and Jon Summerfield replied for St Eval.
