STOKE Climsland made a fine start in their first ever game in the Premier Division with a 5-1 victory at Boscastle.

Last season’s Division One champions beat their more experienced rivals comfortably on the day. Luke Worrall scored a brace with Kieran Hurrell, Josh Pope and Jamie Campbell adding a goal apiece for Stoke. Boscastle replied with a consolation goal from Olly Edwards.

In Division One, Polperro reserves raced in to a 2-0 lead playing a direct style of football at Lifton, Andy Cordner scoring both goals. Lifton got one back just before half-time through Connor Everitt. In the second-half Lifton played the better football passing the ball around and tiring their opponents scoring a further five without reply as the game ended in a 6-2 home win. Liam Rich and Nathan Farrer scored a brace apiece with Jake Murrain also on target.

Last season’s Division Four runners-up Bude Town Reserves find themselves in Division Two following the league re-organisation throughout the summer, but they opened with a 3-1 win at St Eval Spitfires. Steve Box, Bradley Palmer and Lewis Hopgood were on target for the Seasiders.

Southgate Seniors opened with a 5-1 defeat of Lostwithiel reserves with Liam Cairns hitting a hat-trick and Wayne Francome a brace. Lostwithiel replied with a Nathan Cummings goal.

St Dominick reserves opened their season in Division Three with a 6-2 win at home to North Petherwin reserves. Saints were two-up in the opening five minutes and dominated from there on, going 5-0 up in the 75th minute.

The Badgers battled back with a brace in the 80th and 85th minutes from Mada Lin Boss, but it was Kieran Jasper who had the final say, completing his hat-trick before the final whistle.

Bude Town thirds’ first league game together ended in a 4-0 defeat at Grampound.
