Bude Bridge Club latest results and monthly report

BUDE Bridge Club player Steven Clifton has been promoted to a One Star Regional Master by the English Bridge Union.

In other news, Alan Biggs and Rob Mabley were part of the Cornwall A team that lost their recent match against a very strong Somerset team while congratulations also go to Mary Hicks and James Sim, who were convincing winners of the February heat of the North Coast Wine Handicap Pairs and to Bob Bennett on winning the June Justice Individual Trophy. Wednesday afternoon regular Chris Skipp came third.

Alan Biggs and Steven Clifton recently won the qualifying round of the club championship. The top eight pairs now go forward to compete in the final on Tuesday (March 15).

The other winning pairs during the month were Christine Theobald and Mike Newman, Gillian Jolley and Steve Trenner, Maureen Fallows and Alison Osborne and multiple winner Ian Curtis, who came top with both Alan Merchant-White and Sarah Trenaman.
