The first half of the 2025/26 Launceston and District Pool League came to an end before Christmas with defending champions Colin Park B sealing top spot by just two points from Newmarket A in the Premier.

Both sides won 10 and drew one of their 11 outings with the two sides battling out an 8-8 draw.

They along with Archers Arms A, Wilsey Squirrels, Launceston Arms A and Newmarket ‘Shots On’ will go into the Prem for the second stage of the season with the bottom six – Colin Park A, Old Orchard, Manor, White Hart, Archers Arms B and Newmarket D battling it out in the First Division.

On the averages front, Darren Moran of Newmarket ‘Shots On’ had 22 wins from 24 games, while of those to have played the majority of matches, three players – Simon Perkins, Matt Ryall and Wayne Smith were over 80%.

Ryall led the way with 85% having racked up 34 from 40, while Smith’s 28 from 33 (84.20 and Perkins’ 35 from 43 (81.4) ensured their sides did well.
