MEMBERS of the Launceston Road Runners group took on the Falmouth Half Marathon on Sunday, March 13 — or as the runners have referrerd to it as, the ‘Falmouth Hill Climb!’
Despite the incline of the course, it was a beautiful day and the Launceston Road Runners had 15 runners competing — up from just six last year — with three picking up awards.
The race started at the Falmouth Hotel on the sea front before taking the runners around Pendennis, Swanpool, Maenporth and many, many country lanes before finishing in front of the hotel.
A big well done goes to all the runners who made the journey and competed: Darren Evans, Jeanette Johnson, Pawel Szymanski, Brian Wiles, Graham Parkin, Claire Waters, Sue Parkin, Peter Thorp, Louise Werran, Katie Parkin, Julie Barriball, Martin Venning, Adrian Brown, Sarah Swift and John Barnes.
The three members that took prizes were: Jeanette Johnson — 1st female in her age group and 5th lady overall; Claire Waters — 3rd female in her age group; and Brian Wiles — 1st male in his age group.
