BUDE were left unrewarded again as they succumbed to a 33-19 defeat to

Tiverton in East Devon.

Since the club’s opening day victory over Devonport Services, the North Cornwall club have lost five on the spin following promotion back to the Western Counties West Division.

On Saturday, they were behind after just five minutes when a three-on-two left Ben Prowse with the easiest of tries.

Before half-time Tivvy went over for a second time when Elliot Griffiths touched down after an excellent move through the backs.

Bude did get on the scorebook when he barged his way over after the visitors lineout functioned to perfection.

While Bude are excellent in the forwards, the hosts had no problem in working around the ball with ease.

However it was two further tries made by the forwards which killed the game off as Tom Skelding and Henry Frankpitt both crashed their way over.

Bude could easily have laid down but scored twice of their own through their influential fly-half and playmaker Dan Pearce.

First, he picked up the ball on halfway and used his turn of pace to evade the home defence to scorch away before a lovely move in the backs allowed Pearce to cross for his second of the day.

The home side were now under pressure but finally sealed the game through Tom Emanuel after an overlap.
