POINT-TO-POINT horse racing will take place in the Devon & Cornwall Area on Sunday when the Dunsmore Club host their meeting at Dunsmore, Silverton.

With the weather set fair, this promises to provide a fabulous day out for all the family, with six races on offer commencing at 12 noon.

The feature race of the day will be the The INEOS Grenadier mixed open race, which has attracted highly-rated horses from around the country, being a Cheltenham Foxhunter qualifier.

These include Thumb Stone Blues for last season’s Point-to-point National-winning jockey James King, and Chameron, who is equally rated for trainer Sam Loxton, with the booking of jockey Ben Sutton to ride.

Southfield Theatre is another who could go well for trainer Sara Bradstock.

The day starts with The Goffs UK maiden race for four, five and six-year-old where the Tom Malone-trained Captain Westie could start his maiden career with Will Biddick booked to ride.

It is followed by two levels of condition races in which local trainer Robert Chanin could score with The Roestone.

Bridge Of Spies should go well if defying top weight for the George Beilby team.

Both conditions races will be hard for the bookies to choose a favourite.

The restricted race looks another exciting race, with Clever des Assence having won his maiden race at Cothelstone last season, and has the booking of Laura’s sister Natalie Parker booked to ride.

The final race of the day is for maiden horses of seven years and over sponsored by A&S Paving & Building Supplies, in which Truckers Pass for the Tom Malone/Will Biddick combination sets the standard.

On-course facilities include hot and cold food and refreshments, bar, bookies and trade stands.
