A 24-year-old man has today been charged with murder in connection to the disappearance of 18-year-old Bobbi-Anne McLeod.

Cody Ackland, from the Southway area of Plymouth, has been charged with murder and remanded in police custody. He appeared at Plymouth Magistrates Court today in a short hearing to confirm his identity and address, and is due to appear at Plymouth Crown Court on Monday.

The family of Bobbi-Anne have been informed of this update and continue to be supported by specialist officers.

The teenager went missing from her home in Leigham on Saturday evening and was last seen at a bus stop close to her house.

A woman’s body, not yet identifed, was discovered at Bovisand on Tuesday.

Crowds of people attended a candle-lit vigil yesterday at the spot Bobbi-Anne was last seen. Another vigil is being planned at Smeaton’s Tower on Plymouth Hoe this evening.
