THE arrival of an open pharmacy in the Holsworthy Town Centre has been greeted with delight.

After announcing the acquisition of 60 pharmacy branches previously operated by Jhoots, Allied Pharmacies said it would seek to reopen the closed branches as soon as possible.

Just days after confirming that Holsworthy was one of those branches, it has reopened under its new owners, news of which was greeted with delight by the mayor of the town in addition to the town council which he leads.

A spokesperson for Holsworthy Town Council said: “Holsworthy Town Council is pleased to announce that a new pharmacy has now opened in the town centre. The mayor, Councillor Jon Hutchings visited the premises and met with Sam and Alex from Allied Pharmacies, who confirmed that they are officially open for business.

“While the shelves are not yet fully stocked, they will increase the stock to suit our community's needs. Different areas require different types of stock and as the team learns more about the specific requirements for our community, the range of available products will continue to grow.

“This is fantastic news for Holsworthy and we are delighted to welcome Allied Pharmacies to the town.”
