SINGER-SONGWRITER James Dixon will be performing at Boscastle Village Hall on Friday, April 10.

James, who is from Bude, produces performances that have been described as heartfelt, passionate. emotional, spirited and charismatic. He presents beautifully crafted songs that are rooted in his experience and tells stories that range from hard-hitting truths to playful imaginings.

Having entertained audiences in Boscastle before, this is another opportunity to engage with him and his songs in an intimate evening of soulful music. After a European tour with Seasick Steve, James hit the road again last year supporting Cornish rock band Wille And The Bandits.

His critically acclaimed album Good Ground, which was released in 2024, is reminiscent of early Waterboys, and Johnny Cash, and with a passing similarity towards Led Zeppelin. The album was especially made to take advantage of the recent resurgence in the vinyl format.

The album is described as a perfect blend of folk, blues and traditional country, with self-penned tracks paying homage to his fiancé and the beautiful, rugged part of Cornwall, sitting alongside endearingly crafted covers of traditional classics.
