THE duo of councillors representing the town of Holsworthy as mayor and deputy is set to remain unchanged this year.

Cllr Jon Hutchings was chosen by his fellow councillors to continue his tenure as the mayor of Holsworthy, while he will continue to be accompanied by Cllr Helen Parker in the position of deputy mayor.

At the town’s annual meeting, Cllr Hutchings addressed fellow councillors and members of the public in attendance, giving a report on the many achievements and events that have taken place during the previous year.

He also paid tribute to the work of his fellow councillors and the staff at the town council, stating: “I would like to give a special thank you to Allison our town clerk and Tegan, her assistant. Both have worked really hard in and out of the office keeping the council running day to day.

“It has been a very different kind of year with new accounting systems and the re-writing of many policies but we are getting there and I thank you both for all your efforts.

“I would also like to thank all my fellow councillors who give their time for free to a pretty much thankless task of trying to make Holsworthy a better place.”
