On Thursday March 12 the Design Technology Department will be staging another fashion show. The evening will be supported by the Dance Department, as well as food being prepared and served by catering students.
As part of the promotion for the fashion show a group of Year 10 and Year 11 textiles students took part in a photo shoot at a photographic studio owned by Bott Ltd. As one of the themes for this year's fashion show was 'The 60's', an original Mini car was used as a background to the photographs. The car was kindly loaned by Ian Miles, who works at Bott, and it made the perfect backdrop for the pictures.
The photo shoot was organised by Vi Franks (textiles teacher) and Alan Barnes (Leader of Learning for DT). Paul Leach and Nick Woodrow (both design technology teachers) took the photos and were assisted by Bott's own photographer Gary Jennings.
The students who took part had great fun having the photos taken, and after being a little nervous at the start they soon 'got into the groove'.
The photos will be used in the fashion show programme as well as some being blown up in to large posters that will displayed on the night of the show.
Mr Barnes and Mrs Franks would like to thank Bott Ltd for their help and time, and hope that they will be able to work together on similar projects in the future.
Tickets for this year's show are available from the school reception. It really looks like its going to be another great evening — don't miss it!
