FIRE crews from both sides of the Tamar provided assistance at an incident near Holsworthy.

The incident took place during the morning of January 15.

A spokesperson for Holsworthy Fire Station said: “Fire control received a call from police requesting fire service attendance to a road traffic collision where someone was still within the vehicle near Holsworthy.

“Fire control mobilised three fire appliances from Holsworthy, Bude and Hatherleigh along with a supporting officer.

“Once in attendance, crews confirmed one vehicle had left the highway and come to rest in a hedge. Crews liaised with ambulance on scene to formulate a plan.

“Crews used small tools to dig grass bank out enabling access to person trapped within vehicle. Crews extricated person from vehicle and handover them over to ambulance.”
