A PLETHORA of vintage vehicles descended on Holsworthy’s showground as visitors got to enjoy the town’s Holsworthy Vintage and Classic Rally and family fun day.

Held on the weekend of Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29, it offered two full days of vintage vehicles and family fun.

While the centrepiece of the show was the full size and miniature engines, combined with vintage classic tractors, motorbikes of all ages and a vast array of vintage cars, it was also an event which offered something for everyone at a price of just £5 for adults and with free entry for children.

Visitors to the Holsworthy Vintage and Classic Rally were also treated to events held in the showground’s arena, an array of displays in the craft tent and a kid’s play area as well as arena displays.

Typical of many a traditional show, there was also the opportunity for locals to put their prized pooches on display with a dog show, while there was also a licensed bar for people to enjoy a tipple and refreshments which proved beneficial on a rather hot weekend.

While the main events took place between 10am and 5pm on both days, the event began with a well received night of live musical entertainment in the marquee on the Friday evening, with a second evening of music following on the Saturday.

Cllr Nigel Kenneally, the former mayor of Holsworthy, praised the event. He said: “The vintage rally was great. Saturday was affected by the weather a bit, but the Sunday was as busy as I have seen it in recent years.”

The event was also praised by multiple attendees, who described it as a ‘brilliant’ event and stating that they were already looking forward to the next edition of the annual event, to be held in 2026.
