PROPOSALS for the change of use of an agricultural field to be used as a secure dog exercise field has been withdrawn by the applicant.

The proposals would have seen the land to the west of Brooks Garden Centre at Stratton, Bude changed to being three paddocks for the off-lead exercise of dogs, including the erection of 1.8 metres of high metal mesh perimeter and dividing fencing with gate.

It would have formed the three paddocks in addition to the siting of associated agility and enrichment equipment, and it was proposed to be open from 9am until 9pm on Monday to Sunday.

The plans had been met with objections from residents who mostly cited safety grounds amid their concerns over the access to the paddock from the adjacent 60 miles per hour A3072 road.

There were also concerns aired about the impact of the change of use of farmland would have.
