PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works. Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities. Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Cornwall Council in North Cornwall and Torridge District Council in Torridge.
Road closures
LAUNCESTON: The road from the junction to the North of Hillside to the junction to the South West of Tregerry Cottage in Treneglos will be closed between January 26 and 30.
The closure will be in force between 7.30am and 6pm on weekdays to enable work to take place to replace a footbridge.
An alternative route will be signed on site and access will be maintained for pedestrians and vehicles to properties.
KILKHAMPTON: The A39 in Kilkhampton will be subject to overnight closures between January 25 and 31.
The closure will take place between 7pm and 7am and will be subject to road maintenance and gully emptying works.
An alternative route will be signed and access to pedestrians and vehicles will be maintained to properties.
Footpath closure
A FOOTPATH in St Minver which has been closed since July 2023 will continue to be closed to access due to ongoing issues relating to a defective footbridge.
The path, known as footpath nine in the parish of St Minver Lowlands between grid references SW 95293:76482 and SW 94796:76222 has been closed since July 17, 2023.
The order, which was due to expire on December 26, 2025 has been extended to continue until at last March 30, 2026.
Confirming the closure, it was added: “The council is satisfied that this further restriction is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to defective footbridge.
“Nothing in this order will apply to traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer. An alternative route will be signed onsite.”
