POLICE have launched an investigation after two deaths at a property in Camelford.

Emergency services were called to a property in Treclago View at around 10pm on Wednesday, September 24 amid concerns for the welfare of two people.

It was later confirmed that the two people, a man in his 70s and a woman in her 60s had sustained serious injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident.

Police have confirmed that both people were known to each other with their next of kin informed, adding that an investigation has been launched.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Detectives have launched an investigation into the deaths of a man and a woman at an address in Camelford.

“Emergency services were called to a property in Treclago View at around 10pm on Wednesday, September 24 following a concern for the welfare of the two people.

“A man in his 70s and a woman in her 60s had sustained serious injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.

“They were known to each other and their next of kin have been informed.

“An investigation has been launched to establish the full circumstances of both deaths.”

Detective Inspector Peter Gee added: “We are supporting the next of kin of the people who have died in this very sad incident.

“Officers are carrying out enquiries to establish exactly what has happened, but we are not seeking anyone else in relation to this matter.

“A cordon remains in place at the address while officers continue with their enquiries and a thorough examination of the scene is conducted.

“There will be a heightened police presence in the area, and we encourage anyone with concerns to speak with officers.”
