A Cornish doctors surgery has introduced a 'call back' feature.

It allows patients to get a call back when they have reached first in the queue rather than waiting on hold.

In a message to patients, a spokesperson for Port Isaac Surgery said: "Callers will now have the option to request a call back via the phone system, this allows you to hang up and remain within your place in the queue.

"Once you reach number one in the queue, you will automatically be called back and transferred to the next available operator. If you choose this option, please ensure you remain within hearing distance of your telephone."
