An emergency closure has been implemented along Race Hill in Launceston after a notoriously unstable wall collapsed.

Race Hill below the junction for Bounsall's Lane has been closed to motorists, with a diversion along Tavistock Road in place.

A CorservLtd spokesperson confirmed: “Race Hill has been closed under an emergency closure and we are liaising with the adjacent landowner who owns the wall. Following a structural survey undertaken today, we hope to start removing the debris next week and reopen the closed section on Race Hill towards the end of next week.”
