A LIFEGUARD at Splash and member of Bude Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) ran the London Marathon on October 3 for Talan’s Trust.
At the age of 64 Kev Hogarth managed to achieve a time of 4:40:14 only 12 minutes outside his last time (39 years ago). Alongside his marathon, he held an event in BED night club with the cooperation and support of the Surf Life Saving Club and Jo Cowling from BED.
After both, he has managed to raise a total of £2,854, with gift aid to be added to that at a later date. Kev would like to thank Glyn for his training support and Alison Stroudley for her muscle maintenance therapy.
He said he had a great day and finished on a sprint, in the rain, but doesn’t think he will be running that distance again. Mind you Kev has said he won’t be competing before, watch this space!
