THREE friends recently completed the obstacle course, Rock Solid, to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and Cornwall Air Ambulance.

Jen Short and Chloe Stockwin, from the popular barbers, Just Gentz in Bude, along with their friend, Kerry Williams, recently took part in the well-known — and messy — obstacle course, Rock Solid, in Exeter on March 19.

Jen told the Post: “We did it, but it was the hardest thing we’ve ever done. We got very muddy, and had some spectacular bruising.”

The girls’ chosen charities were Cancer Research UK and Cornwall Air Ambulance.

Jen explained why the charities were so important to the three friends: “My uncle had a heart attack, and the air ambulance had to come out to him. If it wasn’t for them, things could have turned out very differently that day.

“We wanted to raise money for Cancer Research UK because cancer is something that most people can relate to, it’s affected at least one person in our lives in some way.”

Jen, Chloe and Kerry raised an astonishing £1,352 for the charities, through their Just Giving pages and through sponsorship forms in their salon.

Jen added: “Chloe, Kerry and I would like to thank all of our clients and sponsors for all their support, and who helped raise £1,352 for Cancer Research and Cornwall Air Ambulance. Thank you.”
