COASTGUARDS who were called to reports of a cylinder washing ashore at a beach near Padstow have confirmed what it was.
HM Coastguard Padstow said, after identification had taken place to confirm it was a welding gas cylinder and an inspection had taken place, and they were given clearance to move it to a safe location.
A spokesperson said: “The team received a tasking to reports of a gas cylinder that had washed ashore on Trevone Bay. Once on scene, team members located the object and identified that it was a welding gas cylinder.Photos of the cylinder were sent on to relevant HMCG full-time officers for inspection.
“Clearance was subsequently given to the team to relocate it to a safe location. Cornwall Council were then contacted to arrange collection.”
