LAUNCESTON Rugby Club held their annual Boxing Day match at Polson Bridge with a Club XV v Holiday XV encounter.
In classic festive timing, kick-off was planned for 11am, however with the obligatory pint and selection at 10am, this was pushed back a bit.
The Club XV captained by first team winger Ollie Bebbington played in black and the Holiday XV made up of ex-players and some that just fancied a game, played in white captained by one of the five Redwoods to take the field, Ben Redwood.
The 300-plus strong crowd enjoyed some fast-flowing, good spirited rugby which was refereed by Jon Perry, with much of play dominated by a Redwood family member.
Father Andy Redwood played a full 80 minutes alongside his four sons, and chairman Andrew Crichton alongside his eldest son Charlie.
The holiday XV won, but clearly rugby was the ultimate winner.
