BROOKLYN Wilkins grabbed the all-important winner as Camelford made it back-to-back victories with a 2-1 success at eight-man Bude Town this evening.

The hosts flew out of the blocks at Broadclose Park and led after seven minutes in controversial fashion.

Billy Hopcroft beat Josh Colwill to brother Harry’s long ball over the top, which Camelford felt was offside, and although his shot was cleared off the line, Ryan Keates was on hand to fire in the rebound.

However Billy’s evening turned sour on 16 minutes as he was sent-off by referee Shaun Edge for kicking out at Sam Wade.

The rest of the half passed off without much incident with Camelford gradually getting on top, but five minutes after the restart, it all kicked off.

Connor Sturdy’s ball from the left side found its way in despite a couple of Camelford players going for the ball when clearly offside, with linesman David Sellars raising his flag. However after a long consultation with Mr Edge, the referee awarded the goal.

In the aftermath, Keates was red-carded for allegedly slapping, before Tyler Yendle was soon given his marching orders for abusive language to Sellars.

Despite it being eight against 11, Bude dug in brilliantly, but were undone on 62 minutes through Wilkins’ rocket finish into the bottom corner following a break down the right.

Bude had their moments including Gabby Rogers shooting wide on a couple of occasions, but Camelford passed up several opportunities to kill the game off for good.

But despite failing to get a third, they held on to inflict a fifth defeat in eight games for the Seasiders.
