East Cornwall Premier League

WITH both sides yet to win a game this campaign, it was the visitors who ended this contest the happier of the two, ending their winless streak against a somewhat unlucky Launceston side.

The home side are firmly rooted to the foot of the table having picked up no points from their opening fixtures and will feel the gods were not on their side in this one, crashing the ball against the bar three times.

Former Southgate Seniors striker Nathan Farrer saw two headed efforts hit the woodwork and Josh Harris’s curled effort suffered the same fate.

Plymstock got off to an excellent start with 16 year old Adam O’Brien, on his debut, netting in the 15th minute.

The Clarets struck back ten minutes later when, after the visiting ’keeper scuffed his clearance, Farrer was left with the simplest of chances.

The winning goal came 20 minutes from time when Sam Passmore fed Lee Strickland, who took full advantage.
