Peggy Marshall Trophy final — Friday, November 30

THE final of this foursomes competition took place on Friday, November 30.

The winners were Collette Burgess and Sue Kershaw beating Sheila Hynes and Chris Simmons on the 16th hole. 

Triangle Competiton (third-round) — Saturday, November 3

THE final triangle match was played at Launceston on Saturday, November 3 in very wet and windy conditions.

On the day, Launceston won with 166 points, Okehampton were second with 160 points and Bude third with 148 points.

Overall, with the good lead established in the first two rounds, Bude won the series with 528 points, Okehampton were second with 503 points and Launceston third with 490 points.

Ladies Section

Turkey Trot — Saturday, December 1

SARAH Ockwell won the Christmas Tree Trophy for the third time last Saturday.

Following the game, captain Elizabeth Swords, ably assisted by husband Terry, welcomed the ladies to a warm punch reception before being served a delicious lunch served by the golf club staff.

The results were:

Division One

Winner: Suzanne Courtenay — 30pts; Runner-up: Elizabeth Hicks — 29pts; 3rd: Beth Ratcliffe — 27pts

Division Two

Winner: Sarah Ockwell — 32pts: Runner-up: Catherine Slee — 27pts (c/b); 3rd: Linda Mullins — 27pts

Division Three

Winner: Anita Ley — 29pts; Runner-up: Elizabeth Swords — 25pts; 3rd: Jenny Pledge — 20pts

Men’s Section

Turkey Trot One — Sunday, December 2

NINETY players took part in the first of two Turkey Trot competitions on Sunday, the course held up well despite more overnight rain with the greens still putting really well.

Prizes went down to 15th place with all those on 35 points or more winning. There were also prizes for nearest the pin on the par three holes.

Winner: Mark Patterson — 41pts; Runner-up: Paul Hicks — 40pts; 3rd: Simon Terry — 40pts; 4th: Ken Farquharson — 38pts
