APRIL has been a busy month for the Bude RATS running and triathlon club.
Phil Aldis took part in the Penzance Duathon, conditions were windy on the day so the cycle route had to be altered for safety reasons changing the event to 5km run, 8km cycle, 5km run. Phil completed the course in 1hr 5mins and 54secs.
Also down in West Cornwall was the Verticle Km — a challenging 10 mile multi-terrain run, with an overall climb height of 1km from start to finish!
David Andrewatha represented the RATS, completing the race in 2.32.35.
Rollo McGrath was RATS sole representative in the Tavistock Half Marathon coming in with another good sub two hour time at 1.58.22.
Toby Haigh took part in the Brighton Marathon and, after his recent excellent form in local races, he completed the 26.2 miles in a superb 3hrs 36mins — a new Personal Best time.
Most recently 14 RATS took part in the Plymouth Half Marathon. With 5000 runners from all over the south west taking part this year, it certainly gave the RATS a feel of a large scale race.
All the Bude runners completed the 13.1 mile course — some taking on a half marathon for the first time.
