BUDE have named their side for the long trip to Alton tomorrow in the second-round of the Papa Johns Community Cup Counties One South Shield (3pm).

With the competition resembling a bit of a farce so far with dozens of games across the country conceded, one of which was Avonmouth Old Boys’ against the Seasiders, it is refreshing to see Bude, who haven’t had a home game for a while, decide to go.

Bude will make the journey to Hampshire with the majority of their squad available.

The front row of Jason Bolt, Rory Mead and Chris Allin is at full strength while Will Kingdon, Finley Fry and skipper Freddie Saxton are also in with second-team captain Will Hockridge and the versatile Dec Smale making up the pack. Matt Williams and Ben Hancock are amongst the forwards missing.

In the backs, former skipper Olly Denford and centre Ed Hilliam-Cooke are missing, but the rest of the side is fairly strong.

Martin George, Will Bromell and Luke Wilson are the three replacements.

Alton, which is in East Hampshire and not far from Southampton, finished second bottom in Counties One Hampshire in 11th with six wins to their name from their 22 outings, and on home soil are likely to prove a decent test for Bude.

BUDE at Alton: Brad Thomas, Jordan Hill, Patrick Marks, Ben Tharme, Jack Horwell, Will Pharo, Olly Mounce; Jason Bolt, Rory Mead, Chris Allin, Will Hockridge, Will Kingdon, Dec Smale, Finley Fry, Freddie Saxton (capt). Replacements: Martin George, Will Bromell, Luke Wilson.
