PUNCH, kick, block and dodge was the name of the game for members of Launceston Tae Kwon-Do when they participated in a sparring marathon to raise money for Sports Relief.

Two sparring rings running continually for two hours of one minute bouts, kept members busy with non-contact shoulder and belt tag along with contact sparring for the more advanced.

A fantastic contribution was made by James Naylor and Jamie by having their legs waxed — possibly even more daunting than the sparring itself — and, together with the sale of refreshments, a grand total of over £225 was raised.

Tae Kwon-Do is a sport in which all ages can participate. It is good for building self-confidence, self defence and a high level of fitness is attained through the training.
