FIRE crews from two neighbouring fire and rescue services were called to reports of a combine harvester on fire in the Welcombe area.
The combine harvester, which was described as ‘well alight’ upon the arrival of the fire crews from Holsworthy and Bude fire stations, was badly damaged as a result of the fire.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said after the incident: “Two fire engines and a bowser from Cornwall were mobilised to a combined harvester on fire in the Welcombe area.
“On arrival the vehicle was well alight. Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hosereel jets, Thermal imaging cameras and a short extension ladder for access.
“The bowser was stood down on route. The combined was severely damaged by fire.”
