WITH the arrival of the first Thursday in August, it was time for the Poughill Revel again.

With great weather, lots of local helpers, sponsors and many adults and children alike looking to have some good old fashioned fun at the fair.   The new revel queen, Bethan Palmer and her attendants, Tillie and Honeysuckle Parker-Crum, arrived at the revel field in an open four wheel horse drawn carriage, pulled by Misty.

The queen was crowned by local resident and long time revel helper Claire Blewett, who went on to officially open the revel at 2pm.

Serenaded by regular fixture, Bude Metric Brass Band, the revellers enjoyed coconut shy, skittles, park the car, socks on the line, face painting, Wooda Treats, the football skill game, hoopla, treasure hunt, whack a rat and much more.
