THE spooky side of North Cornwall is set to be brought into the spotlight thanks to a special night of ghost hunting.

Bude is set for a touch of the paranormal as paranormal investigator and TV presenter Barri Ghai takes to one of the town’s ghostly hotspots in an effort to give residents a look behind the curtain of paranormal research.

Barri, who is best known for his appearances in Help! My House Is Haunted, will be hosting a ‘Paranormal Masterclass’ at Bude Castle in July this year.

Commenting on the event, Barri told the Post: “The masterclass begins with me sharing my own early experiences with the supernatural and how they shaped my interest in the subject. From there, the day moves into a broader exploration of the paranormal — looking at different types of reported phenomena such as poltergeist activity, shadow figures and various forms of hauntings, and how investigators approach those claims in practice.

“We also explore EVP and other investigative equipment, using real examples to show how these tools should be used responsibly and properly during investigations. My aim in Bude isn’t to chase specific phenomena, but to help people better understand the process behind paranormal research and what lies beyond the dramatic portrayals often seen on television.”

Barri added that Cornwall has a ‘rich and fascinating history’ with regard to all things paranormal. Stating that in his experience, places with deep historical roots make them the ideal spot for spirits.

He continued: “Cornwall has a rich and fascinating history when it comes to reported paranormal experiences. Its coastline, historic settlements and strong sense of folklore mean there are countless stories connected to the landscape. From my experience, places with deep historical roots often carry powerful narratives, and it’s that combination of history, environment and human experience that makes Cornwall particularly interesting from an investigative perspective.”
