Drivers in Launceston are set to face some disruption as a major road in the town prepares to close.

Residents and visitors to the town will have to look for alternative routes in the coming week as resurfacing work gets underway on Tavistock Road.

From Monday, October 2, until Friday, October 13 the road will be closed between 7pm and 6am.

Cornwall Council has said that access to Tesco will be maintained via the Hurdon Road roundabout.

A spokesperson for the council added: We know that noise associated with night-time working can cause disruption to residents and we understand this can be frustrating. Please be assured we aim to complete the noisiest operations as early as possible and will try to minimise any impact should the work overrun due to unforeseen circumstances.”

The council has also stated that marshals will be on site to support residents and businesses needing local access, although all through traffic will need to follow the diversions in place.
