It was full steam ahead for the BR Standard 8P Class Pacific No. 71000 “Duke of Gloucester” locomotive, currently visiting Cornwall as part of the four-day Cornish Riviera 2026 railtour operated by the Steam Dreams Rail Company.

The engine has been fully refurbished and restored to her full BR Brunswick Green livery, to look just as she would have done when first built in 1954.

The locomotive made her highly anticipated journey down to Cornwall on Tuesday, and returns her passengers east of the Tamar today.
