PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works. Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities. Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Cornwall Council in North Cornwall and Torridge District Council in Torridge.

Alcohol licence applications

A NUMBER of businesses in North Cornwall have applied for either new or amended alcohol licences in a bid to be able to serve alcohol at their premises.

In Padstow, a wine seller has submitted an application seeking permission to sell alcohol on and off the premises between the hours of 9am and 11pm, seven days a week.

Padstow Wine Company have applied for the licence to sell the alcohol at their business premises of Padstow Distillery, Unit 1 New Business Units, South Quay, Padstow, PL28 8BL.

All representations linked to the application must be sent to Cornwall Council no later than February 18.

Elsewhere, a microbrewery in Wadebridge is also seeking to be granted a premises licence in a bid to open a beer themed café.

Tommy Barnes, representing Braslou Biere has submitted the application to Cornwall Council for the licensing of its premises at Unit 21 Hawksfield, A39, Wadebridge, PL27 7LR.

The applicant has stated that it is seeking to open a beer café selling craft beer brewed locally at the Braslou Biere microbrewery with a licensed hours of 11am to 11pm Monday to Sunday. It would also include the sale of alcohol for consumption on and off the premises in addition to the sale of charcuterie boards in the café.

Any representations linked to the application must be sent to Cornwall Council no later than February 14, after which date a final decision will be made on whether to grant the licence or not.
