BUDE Bowling Club held their annual general meeting on Wednesday, October 10. 

President Sue Plumstead welcomed a good turnout of members and thanked everyone for their support during her time as president which she will relinquish at the forthcoming Annual Dinner.  She then continued to say how well the club had done in the past year, congratulating all those who had had success at County and Group level. 

She congratulated Dave Heckbert on winning the county final in the Men’s County Unbadged Singles which had been held over from 2017 and was played at the beginning of the season when he was awarded his county badge.

Those who had reached county finals this season were Teresa Tibbetts in the County Champion of Champions, Anne Butler and Fran Goldthorp in the Benevolent Two Wood Pairs and Teresa Tibbetts, Fran Goldthorp, Dave Heckbert and Steve Hall in the Mixed Fours. 

Colin and Paul Gardiner were the Group Two champions in the County Father and Son competition but the highlight of the year had been Fran Goldthorp reaching the National Championships in Leamington in the Four Wood Singles. 

She also wished Teresa Tibbetts and Fran Goldthorp success when they hear the results of their recent Johns Trophy trial.
