LAUNCESTON have made just one change from the victory over Barnstaple 20 days ago for tomorrow’s home clash with leaders Chew Valley at Polson Bridge (3pm).

The All Blacks were left frustrated by their postponement at Brixham last weekend and the fact that victories for Devonport Services and Barnstaple meant they dropped to fourth in Regional One South West.

Chew Valley arrive after thrashing Ivybridge 60-31 last Saturday, and have lost just one of their eight games.

They average over 45 points per game so far this term, and have a five-point lead over Devonport.

That said, a Launceston five-point victory and no bonus points for Chew would bring the Cornishmen to within two points and have a game in-hand.

Launceston joint head coaches Ian Goldsmith and Ryan Westren once again have to do without both Charlies – Short (injured) and Tummon (university), while influential inside-centre Cam Fogden is away.

Fogden’s place is taken by Todd Crofts who has been impressing in the second team, while Ollie Bebbington is preferred to Jamie Chapman on the right wing as the All Blacks aim for a seventh victory from eight starts.

When the two sides met last term, it was a victory apiece with each side triumphing at home.

Launceston Castles are also in action when they make the long trip down to their Falmouth counterparts.

The Castles have been in fine form at Polson Bridge, but have struggled somewhat on their travels, a cause not helped by a lack of decent availability.

That said, they won 49-14 at Roseland three weeks ago, and travel with a strong side, albeit slightly short up front.
