CALLINGTON Town, Camelford, Launceston, Morwenstow and Bude Town were all left frustrated on Boxing Day as the recent wet weather put pay to the one of the highlights of the season for local clubs.

Callington were set to meet Launceston in a crucial South West Peninsula League Premier West clash at Ginsters Marsh, but the sodden pitch meant it was called off on Christmas Eve.

In the same division, Camelford were set to travel to Wadebridge for their first league meeting in over a decade. However a pitch inspection two hours before the 11am kick-off found the Bodieve Park surface to be unfit for play. It is now to be played on Tuesday, February 18 (7.30pm).

Another eagerly-anticipated derby was the St Piran League East clash between Morwenstow and Bude Town at the Morwenstow Playing Field. The excellent Christmas Day weather meant there was a chance it would go ahead, but heavy rain on Boxing Day morning determined both sides will have to wait until Tuesday, April 21 (6.30pm) to square off.
