POLICE are investigating reports of a serious assault after a man was stabbed in Camelford on New Year’s Day.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson confirmed: “The man sustained a stab wound after being assaulted in Market Place at around 12.55am on Saturday, January 1.

“The victim, in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which have since been described as not life threatening or life changing.

“Police arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of assault, occasioning grievous bodily harm. He has been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.”
