A COASTAL town in North Cornwall is set to lose its last bank as TSB announce more than 30 branch closures.

It has been revealed that Bude is soon to lose its last mortar bank as TSB announce the plans to close the site at 1 Belle Vue.

While the exact date of closure is yet to be confirmed, it is currently planned for May 2025.

In a report of the branch’s use, TSB said: “Over 95 per cent of transactions are now being made using mobile, online and other ways to bank, instead of in our branches.”

The report has also revealed that Bude’s branch only has two regular personal account customers, and no regular business customers.

Following the announcement, the bank has explained that customers can use most Post Office branches to carry out their banking.

A spokesperson explained: “As a personal banking customer, you can use most Post Office branches to: Withdraw up to £200 if you have an ATM card; withdraw up to £500 with a debit card; check your balance; pay in cash and cheques to your account.

“As a business banking customer, you can use most Post Office branches to: Withdraw cash using your business debit card; check your balance; pay in cash and cheques to your account; and exchange cash using the Post Office Change Giving service.”
