A BUDE-BASED manufacturer has won two 2015 Cornwall Manufacturers’ Group Awards.

Bott won both the Large Manufacturer of the Year and Business Leadership categories.

The award ceremony at the Merchants Manor in Falmouth, attended by more than 110 local business professionals and executives, celebrated manufacturing excellence within the region.

All entries were subjected to strict judging criteria, which included site visits to allow judges to go beneath the surface of businesses and understand the true performance of the companies.

Clive Woodward, Bott CEO said: “Bott has been part of the Cornwall Manufacturing Group since 2005. We’re a passionate supporter of sharing best practice across the region and pooling resources to support Cornwall’s significant and growing manufacturing economy.

“Our growing group has over 40 member companies employing in excess of 3,500 employees and is pivotal to the region’s economic prosperity.

“To win the Business Leadership Award was a great honour, particularly as it was rigorously evaluated by members and associates of the group, who understand the daily challenges of running successful manufacturing businesses.

Under current board leadership our team has, in a spirit of positive co-operation, delivered continual growth from a turnover of £5.5-million in 1996 to a projected £42.5-million in 2015. In doing so Bott has provided many employment opportunities and delivered a positive social and economic impact in the communities where it operates.”

It was the second year in a row Bott won the Large Manufacturer award.
