Learning something new, Bradworthy Young Farmers’ Club (YFC) were delighted to go along to the local church recently to learn more about the magnificent bells.

They did, however, apologise to residents later for the ‘racket’ they had caused when members had a go.

Bradworthy YFC is the biggest club within Devon and potentially the biggest club within Nationals with over 110 members.

A spokesperson said: “We have had such a busy year so far and have achieved things we haven’t done in the very long time! At the beginning of the year we competed against the Tarka group with our pantomime ‘Snow White & The Brad’ry Boys’, most members that took part have never done anything like this before. We won our Tarka round for the first time in 32 years! This was such a big achievement for the club and definitely a highlight of the year. We then went on to compete our Panto at Exmouth within the Devon county rounds to which we came fifth place overall. We also hosted a re-run performance at Bradworthy Memorial Hall and raised an amazing £1,052.26 to The British Heart Foundation.

“It was last Wednesday, April 27, that 15 members visited Bradworthy Church. We had a tour of the church tower and went to the very top to see the stunning views of Bradworthy. The Bradworthy Ringers then showed us how to play the bells, which we all then had a go ourselves. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and thank the Bradworthy Ringers for allowing us to go.”
